Round 1 Doveton v's Cranbourne (away)

Three Losses to Cranny

The Doves had a hard day at the office, with all three sides going down to Cranbourne at Casey Fields. The seniors started well kicking six to four in the first quarter and looked the goods, but Cranny came back hard in the second kicking seven to Dovetons nil, the second half evened out a bit more but we still went down by fifty three points to a very talented side.  Better players for the Doves were our captain Michael Henry, Adam Dean went into the ruck after Bully went down with an injury and competed hard for the whole game, if only he could time some of those leaps he would'nt have lost a tap, John Atwells first game for the club was full of running and he will be a big assett for us over the season and Nanga played a solid game up forward as did Spanna kicking six. Also well done to Mitch and Jake on there first senior game and you can see the talent the boys have which all goes well for there future.
Brownie's two's put in a solid performance to go down by fourteen points, turnovers were there biggest opponent on the day and if they can get that right they will be a contender for the flag as this years side is a vast improvement on last year. Jason McCloy put his hand up for a recall to the seniors with a hard running game and put his body on the line for his team on numerous occasions, Harley Primrose also did his chance for senior selection no harm with a great all round performence.
The under Eighteens went down by Twenty nine points over on one of the back grounds, why they played there I don't know why after the two senior games the ground was still in perfect condition. I can't comment on the game personnally, but I was told they put in a top performance against a very good side.
One last thing to all players, if you are not in a better position than the bloke with the ball  "DON'T CALL FOR IT"
