Round
7 Doveton v's Hampton Park (home) Doves Win Matty's 250th ![]() The seniors put in a solid performance to beat the previously undefeated Hampton Park in tough hard fought contest and to help Matty Miller celebrate his 250th game for the Doves in Style, "well done Matt". The scores were close all day, no more than a goal separating the two sides up until half way through the last quarter when we got fourteen points in front, but to Hampton parks credit they fought back to get within two points with minutes to go, but we steadied to win by eight points. Bulldogs game in the ruck and around the ground was terrific, as was Real who's tenacious approach to his footy has been inspiring, Boa up forward tacking strong marks again and kicking six goals was our standout forward, and the backline was solid all day, special mention to Chris Rodders who done a great job on there key forward. Brownies Two's pulled away in the second half to win comfortably and will have to keep up the hard work on and off the field if they are to climb up the ladder to play finals football. Taylor Rainey played a great game along with Harley again, and it was good to see young Sean Paynter get among the goals kicking four. The under 18's went down by thirty three points to Hampton Park and they to will have to work hard to make the finals. Better players were Joel Cooley, Dale Hill and Cade Marshall. (game pix) |
