Round 8 Doveton v's Pakenham

Seniors To Top Of Ladder
With all the excitement of the Hall of Fame dinner I forgot about our awesome win over the previously undefeated Pakenham. Led by an all conquering Russell Gabriel in the ruck the boys put the game to bed by half time and at the end of the third quarter were a massive fifteen goals in front. Along with big Russ Ricky Hayes, Callum Pattie Justin Hill and Michael Henry put in superb games, but in saying that the whole team were superb, the tackling, hard running and the backline was awesome to keep a side like Pakenhan to four goals for the first three quarters was an indictment on the way the boys work together and back each other up. Although we let them in to kick eight in the last quarter which was a little disappointing it was one of our best games since 05. This week we play Keysie at home with our fifty year celebrations still going as all the ladies are invited down for a get together.

Reserves Well Beaten
The two's lost there first game since 2007 when Pakenham completely outplayed them, leaving a few to think that the party's over unless they all get down to training and get fair dinkum about there football. It just shows you that when the numbers are there they "have" to train but when numbers dwindle, so does attendance at training, come on boys pick up your game there's to much talent there to beaten like you were Saturday.
